Directions (Q. 1-4): Study the following information and answer the questions given below:

J, K, L, M, N, O, P and R are sitting around a circular table, facing the centre. Each of them was born in a different year – 1971, 1975, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1984, 1985 and 1990, but not necessarily in the same order.

1-5; Let us first solve the seating arrangement.

Now, come to the year of birth. L and J were born before 1980. N is the eldest. J is younger than L.

Hence N – 1971, L – 1975, J – 1979.
R is older than only M. Hence R – 1985, M – 1990.
That leaves us with K, O and P. The years left are 1980, 1981 and 1984. The one sitting between J and K was born in 1984. Hence P – 1984. K was born before O.
Hence K – 1980, O – 1981.
