 1. If on 13th pipe A works with a efficiency of 120% and both pipe A and D on 13th remained open for 7 minutes but alternatively on each minute starting with A. Remaining part of the tank is filled on next day. What is the total time for which pipe D remained open on both days if next day all pipes filled the tank together?

1) 12 min 15 sec                      2) 16 min 18 sec                      3) 18 min 15 sec          4) 17 min 12 sec          5) 20 min 10 sec

  1. On 15th tank is filled by both pipes working simultaneously but on 16th all pipes work alternatively on each minute starting from pipe B then C and then D. Find the difference in time taken to fill the tank on 15th and the time taken be fill tank on 16th.

1) 80%             2) 95%             3) 90%             4) 80%             5) 75%

  1. On 17th, A worked with 120% of its efficiency and E with 75% of its effciency and they together can fill 162 litre of water in 12 min. On 13th if both the pipes (A and D) are working with a different efficiency then both pipes working together can fill 7/30 part of the tank in 8 min and if A is opened for 8 min and D is opened for 15 min then they can fill 157.5 litres of water. Find the ratio of time taken by A alone and time taken by D alone to fill tank according to new efficiency on 13th.

1) 2 : 3             2) 4 : 3             3) 3 : 4             4) 5 : 3             5) 3 : 5

  1. If rate of flow of pipe B is 18 litres/min, and cost incurred in filling 1 litre of water in the tank by pipe B, C and D is `12 /l, `15 /l and `10 /l respectively , then find the total cost incurred in filling the tank on 14th if all the pipes filled the tank simultaneously.

1) Rs. 10,665        2) Rs. 11,552        3) Rs. 12,666        4) Rs. 9,848          5) Rs. 8,440
